Meet The Team

Michael Thomas
Michael graduated from the University of NSW in 1985 with a Commerce degree. He was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1988, and was first registered as a Tax Agent in 1987. Additionally, Michael is an Authorised Representative (AR No. 231834) of Financial Planning Dealer group Professional Investment Services Pty Ltd, and has been providing financial planning advice to clients since 1998. In 2003 Michael purchased Shellshear Accountants, now known as Lateral Financial Solutions. In November 2008 Michael purchased Dennis Donovan and Associates, formerly located in Nambour, and has successfully merged these two practices. Michaels areas of special expertise include Small Business Tax and Advisory, and Accounting for Sports Professionals.
Michael is a keen (or perhaps obsessive) golfer, and a regular (with encouragement) home renovator!

Sylvia Grevett
Sylvia worked for The Nambour District Co-operative Society (which operated a number of different branches/businesses) between the years of 1968 and 1978 as a bookkeeper/Secretary.
She made the transition to Public accounting when she moved to Dennis Donovan & Associates in Nambour in July 1984 where she remained until November 2008, when the business was bought by Lateral Financial Solutions.
Sylvia has particular experience with MYOB/Quickbooks/Quicken/Cashflow Manager software packages, as well as extensive experience in personal and business tax accounting and auditing.
Sylvia brings with her a wealth of business and life experience and enriches the team at Lateral with her depth of knowledge and broad understanding.

Andrew Munns
Andrew has been with Lateral for over two years now, having moved here from a similar sized firm north of Brisbane. His particular expertise is in the areas of Individual Income Tax, Company/Partnership/Trust Preparation, GST/BAS Preparation & Capital Gains Tax, and his experience includes running a trucking business. In addition to being our company IT Guru and general problem-solver, Andrew is also the team swimming Champion.
His quest for Accounting Perfection sees him setting high standards for the Lateral team to aspire to, and he shares with the team his strong sense of justice and accountability.
Andrew is currently completing his Bachelor of Accounting at The University of the Sunshine Coast.

Jesseca Lohmann
Jesseca completed Year 12 at Nambour High School, where she also gained Certificate 1 & 2 State Youth Leadership Program (SYLP
She joined Donovan Accountants in January 2008, and moved with the team to Lateral Financial Solutions in November 2008, prior to which she worked for 2 years for an accounting firm in Maroochydore.
Jess brings with her a bright-eyed enthusiasm and genuine interest in what she is doing. On top of that, she keeps the team awake and alert with her remarkable singing abilities.
Jess is currently studying for her Bachelor of Business with a double Major in both Accounting and Financial Planning.
